Intimate Vermont Wedding | Seth & Laura

I’m so excited to share one of my recent favorite weddings—a true celebration of love set against the lush backdrop of the Vermont countryside. There’s something so special about small, heartfelt weddings— especially when they happen at a family home tucked into the countryside. This wedding at a private estate in Hartland, Vermont was full of joy, laughter, and quiet moments that felt beautifully personal.

Let’s dive into this dreamy one-of-a-kind day. Laura spent the morning getting ready at her childhood home, surrounded by photos of her late mother and the love of family and friends.

Before heading out for a first look with her groom, Laura shared a quiet first look with her dad — one of the most emotional parts of the day! And one of my favorites! The room was filled with history: antiques and family photos lined the walls. The kind of cozy charm that made it feel like time had slowed down just for them.

You could feel the love and pride in the air — that beautiful mix of nostalgia and joy that only a moment like this brings. They laughed, they hugged, and for a few minutes, it felt like the rest of the world didn’t exist. The room itself seemed to hold those memories close — the family heirlooms, the old photographs, all bearing witness to this new chapter being written.

I love photographing moments like this because they remind me that weddings aren’t just about two people coming together — they’re also about the families and histories that shape us. This first look with her dad was a perfect reflection of that: tender, genuine, and full of heart.

Their first look took place in the middle of a quiet Vermont field, surrounded by tall grass and soft spring greens. The sky was overcast, wrapping everything in a gentle, even light that made the moment feel calm and intimate. As she walked up behind him, you could feel the anticipation building — the stillness before he turned around and saw her for the first time.

As the evening settled in, the celebration continued with an intimate dinner under the tent that held the music and dancing for the night to come. Stories were shared, glasses clinked, and laughter echoed across the fields. It was the kind of Vermont wedding that feels timeless — simple, joyful, and overflowing with love. Every little moment, from the misty hills to the heartfelt toasts, was a reminder of what truly matters: love, family, and being present together.

I’m always grateful to document these intimate love stories in Vermont — especially in places that mean so much to the couples themselves. Congratulations again to these two — it was such an honor to be part of your beautiful day in Hartland.

xo,
Madaline
